Internship for refugees

Within the framework of the Science Initiative on Integration, the IfL advertises an internship for refugees. The central concern is to bring refugees into intensive exchange with IfL staff and thus contribute to social integration. At the same time, the internship is intended to increase the future chances of the refugees on the labour market and for education. The internship lasts up to three months.

We offer

  • a voluntary internship (up to three months) sponsored by the Saxon State Ministry of Science and Art for career orientation or as preparation for a course of studies with reference to our main research areas (migration and mobility, urban and spatial development, border research, history of geography, geovisualisation, etc.)
  • Insights into the work of the IfL and a professional exchange with the staff of the institute
  • Opportunity to work independently, support in further qualification and in the implementation of own ideas
  • flexible working hours, good working atmosphere and highly motivated project teams
  • an allowance of 130 euros per month

The following are assumed

  • Migrant status, i.e. asylum seeker, tolerated or entitled to asylum or recognised refugee
  • Interest in geographical topics
  • German and/or English language skills
  • Experience in working with MS Office applications
  • Experience in a scientific context is an advantage
  • Permission of the foreigners authority
