CORAL-ITN Training on quantitative and qualitative methods

Zeitz

With the four-day training event from 20 to 24 June 2022 in Zeitz (Saxony-Anhalt), the CORAL team aims at providing an introduction to the use of quantitative and qualitative methods to pursue research on issues of regional development in Europe and beyond with a focus on the role of collaborative workspaces in rural and peripheral areas.

With a mix of keynote lectures, seminars, open and interactive sessions the event provides a platform to discuss and further advance the use of methods in the individual PhD-projects of all participants. Topics will be linked, inter alia, to transnational comparative (case study) research, the use of statistical methods to map spatial disparities, mixed methods and qualitative interviews.

Selected applicants will be paired with CORAL-ITN Early-Stage Researchers (ESRs) and senior researchers and will participate in a series of events designed to facilitate intellectual engagement, offer training on research methods and promote peer and professional support.

Location: Nudel, Zeitz, Germany

The old factory of "Nudel" can be reached by foot from the railway station in approx. 7 minutes. Most participants will most probably travel from Leipzig main station to Zeitz by train which takes approx. 40 minutes. Trains of the company Erfurter Bahn depart every hour (5 minutes to the full hour) at main station with a stop in Leipzig-Plagwitz (for people being already in Leipzig West). Those who are flying directly to Leipzig/Halle airport should also take the regional train S-Bahn to main station and change there to Erfurter Bahn.

Address: Alte Nudelfabrik, Paul-Roland-Straße 7, 06712 Zeitz
