History of the DVAG

History of the founding of the German Association for Applied Geography

On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the German Association for Applied Geography (DVAG), the IfL working group on the history of geography was commissioned to study the history of the association in the first two decades of its existence. The goal was to pursue the conflicts over the establishment of an applied geography in the context of structural and theoretical developments of German geography in the years 1940-1970.
